We’ll continue our exploration of the Saucon Rail Trail. We’ll park and meet at the Water Street Park near downtown Hellertown. We’ll go north first on the Trail and then double back and go to the Meadows Road crossing. The Saucon Rail Trail is a popular, wide trail constructed along the original North Penn Railroad and former SEPTA railroad line. The Trail connects four communities: Upper Saucon Township, Lower Saucon Township, Hellertown, and Coopersburg. The level surface is crushed stone.
This hike is appropriate for children of all ages. Dogs on leash are welcome. Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars/camera for nature observations. Bathrooms are available at the Water Street Park. Length: 3 miles Duration: 2+ hours GPS: 40.579365, -75.343599

Directions: From I-78, exit at Hellertown, Exit 67. Go south/left on Route 412/Main Street for about 1.0 mile. At the traffic light turn right onto W. Water Street and travel 0.1 to the entrance of Water Street Park.
